Default Crome Problems.

So im using free version of Crome to burn a basemap for my brothers stock gsr. I've used Crome before so im fond of it. My issue is that i set his 2 step to 5500rpm. But the issue is that his car tends to cut off at 5500rpm. Any ideas? His rev limit is at 8200rpm. Besides that it runs fairly smooth.

Update:

I burned a bone stock gsr map. no added features to it and the car runs like a champ. WTF is up with this stuipd 2 step option. No wonder I hate Crome so much.

Could be the VSS. The ECU has to see below a certain MPH for the 2-step limit to take over.

The VSS is not working since the guy that built the transmission did not install the speed gear, so our only option besides tearing it out again was to disable speed check for Vtec on a chipped ecu. It occurs in all gears. Will just cut off at 5500rpm where 2 step is set.

So that is your problem. You cannot use the 2 step without a working VSS, since it disables the 2step based on speed. You are never reaching that max 2step speed so it never switches over to the normal rev limit.

You can't use 2-step if your VSS is not working. 2-step kicks on below a certain MPH, like I mentioned before.

I get it but I dont get it either. When 2 step is activated while sitting at 0mph the VSS is looking for 0mph right? Once the VSS detects speed it automatically disables the 2 step launch control, correct? So in my case 2 step is never disabled because there is no speed indication found by the Vss to kill the 2 step. Correct me if im wrong.

That is exactly what we just said.

I believe the Crome 2 step disable MPH is 6mph or something in that range not 0.

Put it on a clutch switch. NepTune has this functionality, not sure if Crome does.
