Default Couple tuning questions

I posted this in the FI forum with no answers, so i'll try my luck here

I am in the process of street tuning my built GSR setup and have come across a couple issues.

1st: I am running a hood exit exhaust, my tuner feels that an extender pipe must be ran to give an accurate reading of AFRs while tuning. Another friend of mine who tunes said that by running the pipe while tuning, it will throw the tune off once the pipe is removed....

2nd: While tuning we noticed that my AFR's would not drop below 12.0 under boost, no matter how much fuel was added ect. Tuner thinks its a software issue, other friend thinks my injector deadtimes are off

Anyone else have any opinions?

How far upstream of the exhaust outlet is the oxygen sensor placed?

What is your duty cycle when you can't enrich beyond 12:1? Have you checked for exhaust leaks before the oxygen sensor?

outlet is atleast 8in away from o2, maybe 10-12 in actually. No exhaust leaks, duty cycle is low.

Car has 6262, deatschwerk 1000cc injectors with twin walbros, so I know im not out of fuel

The o2 placement is fine for accurate readings..

What tuning system are you using?

Try another wideband sensor.
Injector dead times in the calibration wouldn't cause such an issue.

Wideband works fine, it came out of my buddies turbo hatch with no issues and it reads fine while cruising around. I wasn't sure if the deadtimes were the issue or not either as we set them up as Deatschwerks told us to

Well we noticed that my gauge is reading 11.1-11.3 in boost, while Hondata is showing 12.1, any ideas what would cause the difference? in Smanager wideband is set to 0v=10, 5v=20, 5v=20.

One more question or issue I should say. We have a 6lb spring in the gate (precision 46mm) there is 3 ports on the gate. The top 1 is supposed to be left open if boost controller isn't hooked up. So we left that open. Now the other 2 ports is what were having an issue with. If we leave one of the side ports opened the car will hit 9psi (thats where boost cut is set at), if we plug both ports it will only hit 3.3psi
