Default B20B Turbo Base Map?

I am in the process of installing the turbo on my Stock 97 B20B with a P75-3 head. I was hoping that someone maybe had a base map for my S300. I have looked at the pinned tune database but I am not sure which one I should use if any seeming my block is completly stock and doesnt have VTEC on the p75 head. Thanks for any help. I am new to the forums and have been learning alot just from reading alot of post. Any tips on turboing my b20 would be helpful as well.

Smanager has a lot of built in basemaps. Just go to File > New and it will give you a list. See what you can find there.

No dice, the only one on smanager is a Stock B20 and Stock B20 with a cam. Should i just use the stock b20 and work up from there or keep looking for a base map with a turbo.

It is just a base map, so that the car will start and probably idle, maybe even drive so you can go get it tuned. Whether or not it has boost tables shouldn't matter since you won't be boosting on a basemap.

The stock B20 map should be fine. You will just need to adjust the injector and map sensor settings if you have aftermarket ones and it should fire up.

Okay, So I loaded up the base map and the car is running extremly rich, I messed with the fuel table and its running better but it will only run around 12:1, Am i doing something wrong why cant i get it to idle at 14.7:1 once i get over 13 it starts to run bad and eventually dies

Need to know every component in the fuel system. Could be a timing issue also.

After watching a bunch of videos i figured out what the problem was, is there a reason you cant just plug a wideband o2 sensor into the stock wiring harness probabaly a stupid question but just cursious before i start splicing into wires

Yes. The stock O2 sensor inputs are narrowband only. You can wire up your wideband to pin D10 with the resistors removed on the ecu to make it run in closed loop off the wideband. You have to set it up this way in Smanager under closed loop parameters.

But for now you should just set it to open loop only (closed loop disabled) while you are getting it tuned. Your maps have to be fairly close to where you want them before you enable closed loop. Otherwise your AFR will jump all over the place while the ecu tries to figure out WTF is going on

Okay, Before I even purchase a wideband, Is it really needed or will the stock o2 sensor be plenty, I dont plan on racing or anything like that just daily driving occasionally. I appreciate all the help by the way. I have been messing with cars for a while now but I am just getting into all the computer and fuel injection.

Wideband is essential for tuning. If you are going to a tuner, they will put a wideband in the tailpipe and tune the car. After that, you don't necessarily need one for yourself, but I would highly recommend it so you can keep tabs on how things are running. If anything were to go wrong down the road, such as failing fuel pump, injectors, clogged filter, etc. and cause your engine to lean out, you would have no idea it is happening without the wideband and you will destroy your engine.

Okay, I see. I will most likely get one a little on down the road. I am just gonna try to get it back running for now and monitor everything with my laptop until I can get it to the shop.

You will hear good and bad stories about all of them. Just stick to a reputable brand such as AEM, Innovate, or PLX and you'll be fine.

Okay, Already found a few thanks, Do I need a gauge or can i just get a sensor and enable lean protection? I am trying to keep gauges to a minimum. Sorry for all the stupid questions.

Again it's a matter of preference. You don't "need" a gauge after your tune is dialed in, and you can watch your AFR through Hondata if you wire it up that way. But without a gauge you won't be able to keep tabs on how it is running, which is pretty critical for the longevity of any turbo build in my opinion.

Alright, I just went ahead and bought one from Innovate with the gauge and sensor. My plan is to have everything done by this weekend hopefully, I had a issue with my manifold and had to send it back and get another one, Trying to keep AC and PS is a pain but should work out this time around.
