Default Pressure Wash Block while Head off??

Quick question,

Changing my headgasket, and noticed i have alot of "goop" in the water jackets. Car has been sitting all winter, its not really rust so it scrapes of easily.

I was thinking just cover cylinders with plastic bags/rags , take the coolant plug out of the block, and pressure wash away. Do you guys think ill be good with the pistons still installed?

Or should i just put the engine back together and flush the coolant??

crappy pic, only one I had saved

Don't pressure wash! You will get water in everything including the oil. Just take your time and manually clean what you can.

I also plan on pulling the oil pan/pump to replace the front main seal. So I should be able to drain most of the water.

But you still think to much water will get stuck in the oil passages as stuff?

Not worth the risk?
