Default Crack in the block of B18B1

It is my first time rebuilding and engine and I am wondering if this damage is concerning, and how to go about fixing it if so. I plan on turboing the engine so I want to make sure the block can handle it.

Nothing to worry about... these are casting fissures and are totally normal.

If you look / feel of these closely, you will see that they are actually raised, and not cracks at all. It's an artifact from the casting process.

forgive the pedant in me... I'm pretty sure most if not all blocks Honda makes are aluminum die-castings. Intake manifolds and J-series thermostat housings are most likely to be sand cast.

I'm all for accuracy, and you're right - I do believe the blocks are die cast. I've edited my post.

OP, I would take that block to a shop to get it hot-tanked. It’s definitely not cleaned properly
