b18b with a b16 crank thrust washers
so i’m rebuilding my first engine and i am having an issue with thrust washers i tried putting in the 2 and the b16 won’t fit in i was wondering if i could do only 1 and it will be fine i made sure the bearings are fitting properly and they are
No, you MUST run one thrust shim on each side of the number 4 main journal. The B18B and B16A thrust shims are the same part number from Honda/Acura (OE), so they should fit just fine.
well would there be any reason the crank won’t turn freely or even fit completely in the block without taking one out?
well i didn’t notice i ran out of oil because it burns oil not major but it burns it i forgot to check it and leaving a light i had a little fun and i started to hear a slight tick i stopped at a fast safari on because it kept turning off while i was stopped i checked the oil it was dry as a bone so i put some in went back to work because i was on break put it on a lift drained the new oil and to check for metal shavings there was none on the way home it got bad down on power real bad loud knocking i was trying to get it home i get home take the oil pan out checked pistons 3 and the bearing was destroyed rod was black with deep cuts where the bearing goes and the journal on the crank was way thinner then the others with some harsh scars on it so i did away with it and i bought a b16 crank because that’s the only one i could find here because i need the car to get to and from school

Ok, forget that the crankshaft doesn't spin for a moment: How are you going to run the B16A crankshaft in the B18B block ? What connecting rods do you intend to use ?
B16 has a much shorter stroke than the B18. Would require custom rods to make this combo work.
With what you are attempting the compression will be so low it probably won't run. Is it possible someone sold you a D16 crank and that is why the thrust bearings do not fit?
I believe you could go to a B20 crank and be okay with the B18 rods and pistons. Same stroke.

i’ve seen people do this before but this just temporary until my birthday is there anyway that i can tell if this crank is from a d series if it is ima just send my old one to a machine shop to see if i can get it fixed for cheaper then a new one

The math says b18b with b16 crank yields a 5.8:1 compression ratio. Probably not enough to get the fuel to burn.
Find a complete B20 to swap? Would be cheaper in the long run and gain some torque in the process.

Just buy a JDM b20 or b18 like what you had in your car they are all over the internet for 400-700 dollars, most of them come with a warranty of some kind.
