b16 vtec head with b18 block
so first off, take it easy on me as i don’t know anything right now and i’m trying to learn.idk if i’ve posted this in the right section or not. but i have a jdm b16 head with a b18 block. i’m wanting to fully rebuild my motor and make sure i do it the right way. money isn’t an issue really but i’m not wanting to go too crazy. wanting to potentially make 200hp + N/A and then eventually turbocharging it. i’m going to try to explain what i want out of this without sounding like a noob. but i just want an all around good build for the streets. so what am i going to need to do specifically in terms of porting the head( are there specific specs for that?). internals for the head and block? what specs to go with for the block because i plan on taking that to the machine shop, the head also. one thing i really want is that loud aggressive lumpy idle. how do i go about achieving all this?
If money isn't and issue then just turbocharge it and be done. If your looking for less than 500whp eventual goal just CSS the block and get some forged pistons and rods. The "aggressive idle" can be achieved with a high lift cam but this isn't the V8 world. That comes with a full valve train replacement(spring, retainers, spring seats, and valves) as well. There is a ton of information on this website in the forced induction forum in regards on how to build a reliable setup just search around and you will find it.
