Drifting is a Joke (Video inside)
I had to share this video with all of you.
Anything you can do in a farm tractor is obviously not a sport.

Hmm right ... you have no IDEA the time these guys put into the sport. They have to learn to be a better driver and put on a good show to win. Its not just a who spent the most money race. Hell I spent too much to drag race but im just saying my buddy won the united-drift this year and he hasnt bought anything but tires after he did his initial swap/tune. Its all about learning to win a crown and having fun. It seems 90% of all honda guys spend spend spend and talk crap on anyone who doesnt have Full-Race or some other hack job garbage thats popular (Full-Race makes a good product dont get me wrong just gotta cut an arm off to get it). Owning the newest Honda-Tech bandwagon is just the same as dancing around like a ***-got yourself, all to show off.. correct?? I for one dont have any bandwagon anything on my car and no-one on this site could care less about it but it runs great and I spent 1/2 the cash and I am happy with the outcome.
Sorry if I made anyone frequently on here that knows anything (Art, Tony) mad. Racing is racing guys ... you have to love motorsports in general to keep the sport alive.

all bull **** aside, actual drifting is an intense, high speed, quick thinking sport, that takes lots of practice...
not parking lot power sliding...
next time your driving on the freeway @ 80 mph, think about clutch kicking the car sideways and controlling it
thats drifting.
motorsports experience will help you to experience this feeling or at least empathize with it.

You're not upsetting me, i completely agree with you. Drifting takes ALOT more skill that people think. I can honestly say it was more entertaining watching the D1 drift comp. at the JGTC race last year than watching most drag racing...

Watch the short video clip put together by the British show Top Gear on drifting. The way they put it together (music, editing, filming) I don't see how anyone could not get pumped up about drifting.
I agree on the whole aspect of it being a lot more fun than drag racing too. I've been to a few drag races and I found myself wandering the pits checking the cars out more than watching the actual racing. The only racing I found truly exciting was the top alcohol dragsters and funny cars, but thats because I was right down on the track when they were leaving the line (knew someone who used to race an IHRA alcohol funny car).

I agree. I would rather watch drifting than 15 second Hondas battle it out all day in Palmdale, the most dreadful place on this earth

that looks like an idiot screwing off, not actually drifting.
and just because one idiot can do it, doesn't mean that everyone is stupid.
that's like saying that 1 idiot screwing off at the street races makes all drag racing retarded. we've all heard that comment before...

drifting is not an easy sport, i think its actually fun to watch. When long beach grand prix was going on, i was there with a few friends and they did some demo runs and it looked like the crowd was enjoying it.

To me drifting is like cheerleading. It takes skill and practice, but could you really call it a sport? I just get a little tired of all this JDM bandwagoning. Why don't we start something USDM, like red-neck drag racing?

I've ridden with Ken Gushi on a tandem run at one of the Formula Drift. That **** was fkn fun. I wasn't a big fan of it before, but after I liked it after I rode with him. I nearly shat my pants when he almost nailed the car infront of him
