Default Drifting

So this weekend I was out with some of my friends and we put togeather a little drift type deal. We were just fooling around in this old office building's parking lot cuz it just shut down. But I dont know what the hell is wrong with my car. Like we got it sideways by ripping up the e-brake. The only problem was it could not hold the drift too long. What are some good ways to drift without the e-brake, kinda like the 350z I saw on the web?

Civics cant drift. You can have a nice torque steer competition though

Ok,

1. You're obviously 16.
2. Maybe 15.
3. Think about it as though you were a physics teacher, why would your car not drift when the rear tires are completely stopped?
4. WTF

Ok, drifting works only in rwd/awd cars. To drift, (rough description) you get up to speed, turn the wheel and dump the car into a really low gear at a high rpm to lose all traction in the rear wheels, with not traction the rear end slides as opposed to doing it's job by not sliding.

Drifing is for those whose sauce is weak. It's not even racing. It's kind of like racing, but only if you're racing in the special Olympics. Even if you win, you're still retarted.

Damn, it didnt fit.

Reverse: So you're telling me you and your "friends." (I'm assuming at least 3 licensed drivers/car enthusiasts) Sat around scratching their heads wondering why their civic wont drift right.

1: I pray one of your friends knows your car is FWD.
2: Your profile says you're 20, did you just get your license?
3: you mean to tell me you've been driving for 4 years and can't comprehend the situation.

This doesn't belong here, if you need enlightening, PM me, axtran, Architictus, anyone with 500+ posts. Hell, anyone other than your friends.

Sorry, but I have to say that's been converted to RWD. I didn't even watch it and that's the only way he's really drifting.

You should give it a watch. It really is FWD and it is sliding around the corners

i actually watched the clip and the car is FWD, but the driver is just pulling the e-brake alot a spinning the front tires a little

but i was surprised that a fwd could actually do that good at "drifting"

Yeah, lots of tire stoppage, oversteer, and flat spots on his tires. Consider that he's slowing down exponentially in every turn when he could just drive around the turn like normal.

No, I only quoted you for ***** and giggles.

I was 15 years old once ... and I wasn't mentally retarded and devoid of the concepts of basic physics. There is not glory and not pride in what this kid is asking about. If I went onto Nasioc and asked where to buy headers for my WRX, I'd expect to be brutally punished. It's a retarded, unintelligent, uninformed, ignorant question.

Anyone who asks "why can't I do what I saw on the interwebs?" needs some serious life lessons. Some small fire on a honda forum is the least of his worries. We're lucky if this kid learns from this thread and doesn't crack a wheel in half on a curb.

Ok so obviously you can not a "drift" a fwd car, bu you can psuedo (god I love that word) drift a ff car and it's not that hard. You just need a a high entrance speed, liberal use of the e-brake/skilled left foot braking or pro heel toeing (my fav). Keep in mind it's all about momentum and whcih tires the weight are on.
(I'm not defending him)
