Basically a controlled slide. It can only really be done in RWD vehicles. It's when your *** is sliding out and your rear wheels are spinning while the front wheels are turned to keep you from spinning out. Did that make sense? heh
Get on Morpheus/Kazaa/whatever and search for drifting videos. That will explain it much better than I can. :>

Actually drifting is possible with FWD. It's just that with FWD, you wont be able to do multiple drifts in a row I think....you know like a S-shape road.

I think people refer to FWD drifts as *** dragging.
There are quite a few ways to drift btw, not just one.

Drifting is possible in a front wheel drive car, you just have to whip it around real hard, or use your e-brake. I have a stock integra LS and do 180's and drifts all the time. I've got it on video if you want to see it.

drifting is just controlled oversteer mostly used in rally racing to point the car in direction that you want to go before you get out of the turn

I did some badass *** dragging yesterday on my canyon run with a bunch of friends. That ***** fun, but my aftermarket steering wheel is pretty small in diameter and that **** would spin rediculously fast duning the slide!!!!!!
