I'm ready to get the gun ready. I pull on my buddies WRX all the time and he runs 14.5. I think my problem is just being scared of breaking an axel or something. Plus, im not sure how to launch with this motor yet. Guess it takes time and not some stupid Falken tires.

But how does my car weigh so much. I was totallly shocked when I read it.

CF Hood
No back seats
No spair tire.

Car was empty!!! Nothing but front seats and a DOHC motor.

And how come theres no danm angry faces on Honda-Tech!!!$#!@$</TD></TR></TABLE>

EKs are heavier car in general. My 96 hatch weighs over 2500 with carbon fiber seats and no back seats. Just because you took out your spare tire and back seats does not mean your car will loose a ton of weight. That is prob 20lbs right there if that. The hood may save you 5 lbs or so. If you want to loose weight take out the sound deading material, lighter wheels, heater box and so on.

sounds about right. they are rated at 2500 or something stock aren't they? Add teh extra weight of the DOHC and that's an extra 100 pounds.

Was that with or without you in the car?

missing 3rd sure explains the 77mph traps.

your short times suck *****. dont be scared to launch man. remember you will go faster spinning than you will trying to keep it from spinning. there is a big difference in traction and trying to make it hook through throttle modulation. once you loose the fear of breaking **** you will run faster. i used to have a turbo gsr vx civic. it went 13.8 and i was happy..but i was scared of breaking ****. a month later i went to the track and said expletive it..i launched harder and killed the car through the 1320...i ran 12.92 on street tires at nearly 117mph on 7psi from a 57 trim t3/t4 on a stock gsr. so you see. if you just get ovetr the fear of breaking **** and go ***** to the wall you will run faster.

how does your hatch weigh so much? my 00 dx with full interior, half tank of fuel, and me in it weighs 2420...

and to the guy above a b18c is not an extra 100lbs, if i recall an h swap isnt even nearly that much more weight...

EX and DX's have alot of differences, ABS power everything, sunroofs, ect.

Dont be scared to dump that bitch.

And the MPH was real low because he put it in 5th and not third.

Some helpful hints....Launch at around 5000 slip the clutch and you will be fine. Fuel pressure around 45lbs and that should work for a good ET. I ran and exact set up last year bone stock and went 13.1 at 102mph on slicks....

Remember a 1/10 in the 60ft is about 2/10 in the 1/4 so do the math...

Thanks for your help guys. More seat time for me for sure. Just want to pick up some Autozone axels just incase.

Will go back next week for sure

Also will 225/50/15 Drag Radials fit my car? I know thats a little extreme but just wondering if it will fit without any modifications.

If you want I will post the time slips from the track. And you can figure it out all i know is that's what the car ran. The motor was purchased as stock motor and installed in the car...

I trapped 98 with a stock B16 in a hatch on DR's. It's possible although like mine it didn't trap that every run.
