Wiring Stutterbox with E-Brake
My accel dfi has a built in stutterbox that I am going to be wiring in this weekend.
To activate the stutterbox i need to apply 12v to this wire... now my question is... do i need to add a microswitch to my e-brake or can someone post suggestions?
i was thinking about trying to find out which wire illuminates the BRAKE indicator on the gauge cluster and splice into it so that the 12v used to illuminate the light would also activate the stutterbox. good idea? bad idea?

i would suggest using a relay on it....hook everything up as normal(the relay), and hook the negative(of of the relay) so that when the ebrake is up, it is grounded, and when its down it is not grounded. this will make the relay put out power to the 12v hookup.(when its grounded)

good thinking. i hadn't really thought about using a relay. that would work with the oem ebrake switch quite nicely...

I have mine mounted on the e-brake, too. I jsut added a switch that activates it when the brake is up. It works good for burnouts, too, so I dont over-rev the motor.

PM me if you need the exact wiring for the relay. or even better. Standard bosch spst relay.
85....to the ebrake wire
86....12V+
87....12V+
30....to your accel
87a...n/c
This will feed your box 12v+ only when the ebrake is engaged.
