Window Net Required For 10's???
I was reading the rulebook last night and it states that you need a window net in the hot rod class. Is that assuming you will be runnins 9's?? my street car may not go 9's and I dont want to run a net if possible even though I'm in hot rod class. Anyone know if it mandatory no matter what time you run if you are in hotrod?? thanks

if your talking about your street car, maybe you should throw in a oem tank and run the street class. thats what your car is better suited for and it wouldn't take that much effort. and your
chances of winning anything might improve alittle.

i tghink you only need a window net if running over 150mph traps. after that i think you need a window net and parracute!

I know but I'm not really looking to be competitive in the street car. I'm just runnign for fun. It would take more than a gas tank to get me in that calss anyway. I have no headliner, stock dash or door panels,no exhaust,no oem streering column. I'd build a smaller lighter 92cx for that class and put my motor in it if i wanted to be competitive in street class. It woudl be less work too probably.
Mike, you do not need a window net for a 6 point, if you go over 135 or hit 9.99 you will need a full certified cage with a window net. So you might be on the brakes hard this year
It's a class rule. which means that you will need it if you want to be in that class, no matter what times you are running.
You'll need a net AND a full cage.

It all really depends on what you want... Chromoly , mild steel? For it to totaly blend with you interior, or for it to be welded in then worry about making the interior fit. AFor a quote on a 6 point or full cage call Jeff from insane fabrications down in southern Md @ 301 855 0152

Email Jim Skelly, he probaly wont get back to till next week, I know 2 years ago I was not allowed to run the hotrod class, because I had just a 6 point, my car was a mid 11 second car on the bottle back then. I ran brackets and had a good time anyways. I dont know if they make exceptions for cars that dont hit the e.t.'s that need a net or cage. Good luck...
