wheelie bars?
1: if they dont tie into the main hoop then they really wont put the downforce your looking for onto the front tires correct?
2: the 2 front windshield bars should also tie into the shock towers as well in order to get the correct effect of the bars correct?
just curious of what some of u guys think that use them before i proceed
IMO attaching the bars to the shock tower will make the most efficient use of the bars. Sure you could not attach the cage to the shock towers, but think about it.
I think it's simple physics.

ya the only part that sucks in now that i got the cage all finished & primed she's gotta go back under the damn knife. its easy to do the bars going up to the stock towers but i hate the idea of adding an X on the back 2 bars for support(weight lol) ill probably only use like 1in chrom..should be strong enough.
ive busted my *** to take weight out of this car. havent cut anything out really but all the useless lines brackets bolts ect.. stuff adds up.
what are u guys making the wheelie bars out of size wise ect..?

For bar size, check the rule book, the cage will have to be certified.

Dude, wheelie bars work. You just don't get why they work. I'm not telling you to run without them. Strut towers flex. Virtually all of it is from the drivetrain. None of it is from wheelie bars forcing your front tires into the pavement, lol. Tying the strut towers is a good idea because it makes the chassis stiffer. You get the increase in traction from the extended wheelbase having better leverage to resist weight shift, not because it causes weight shift. The tires stay planted, because more of the weight is staying up front than before, not from extra weight transferring from the back.

on not saying your transfering "weihgt" im saying "load". dont orry i got it now. sticking wiht the original plan. aslo my cage is already certified.
they only check the cage not the shut or wheelie bars they just look at whats protecting your as while u sit down in the car. got a guy that travels around here in south fl. came right to the house for 135$

well ya i would agree with that. im saying it a little wrong. the bars keep what load is trying to be released from the front up in the front.
i an just looking at it as when u do launch thier is a little load that goes back till the bars hit & plant down then some of thzt lost load might find its way back up front . just a little
sound good? lol

You're overthinking it, it's as simple as "It keeps the "load" where it is, instead of the "load" shifting to the back of the car."
Don't try to make it any harder, it prevents unwanted weight transfer and that's all.
Tying into the cage would be wanted, but the strut towers have nothing to really do with it. It helps if they are tied together, but to the same effect as a non-wheelie bar would benefit from them. It's good to have in any situation.

I think it was Greg from AEM that said look at it like this...
Do a pushup normally, then do a pushup on your knees.
I thought it was a pretty good analogy of what's going on.
