Default What would you do?

Just curios how most people would handle what happened to me.This guy came to me with an insight. And asked me to build the front end,Like hook the steel cage to the allum. car,and make all the front part of the cage. Also he wanted a turbo manifold,Intake manifold and all the crap that goes with it,Then he said if I did
some really different and wild looking deal he would say who did all the work if
he got it in mag.Well I did all the work (where I work)And he got it on the cover
of Drag Sport Dec. Well not only did he not put my name,He said the fabricator
that first worked on it messed it all up.And that he thought up the whole idea of making the manifolds the way I did them.I said I want to make it look like one of those Supra's.This is the first I have said about this .But when someone promises
you ink for work and they don't follow through what do you do?Get mad or do what I just did?

That would be a good place to start. Let the world know what kind of guy this is and show your side. I would be slightly peeved. Probably would not do any work for him in the future

well i hope people learn from reading this.
you should always CYA on things like this. Get it in writing, have him pay all upfront and IF he gets in a big media publication then you can cut him a check back for the coverage you got.

But since its all mostly behind you, it going to be tough. From what you have said, there isnt much in writing.
Have you talked with the guy at all about the article?

No ,nothing in writing .I thought nobody has ***** that size to look me in the eye
and LIE to me like that. But that's not the bad part. Then he discredits me by saying
I messed it up ,When he drilled a hole in the cooler core himself.I don't know if you have read the article. My mistake was trusting such a POS.

Hell yeah, I have that issue and I went down stairs to read it again. Sure enough, it says "The first fabricator messed it up". . That sucks! Retaliation is a must

Take out an ad in Dsport and use his car as an example of your work. If you call Frank at Dsport and explain your situation I would think he would give you a break on an ad. You might even be able to do a new product release for the parts you built and use your customers car as the example.

what's the difference, if he paid you what you asked for then let him say and do whatever he wants. if you had some sort of sponsorship deal, you should have gotten it in writing. and if he lies about you by name then sue him for libel.

werd, thats a really good idea.
Im guessing you dont have a website yet...
But you could post up the article and make a correction based upon what the guy said.
I did read the d-sport article (i just happended to read it actually) and I saw that manifold/intake manifold. it looked really bad ***. there werent even that many pictures of it though and no info like you were saying...
