What is more impressive?????
Hey guys I want to know what you think is more impressive at the track? A crx with a B18C1 block, and first gen SI head both stock, with intake and header exhaust fully gutted with race suspention in rear, race doors, and 18x6x14 slicks running a 13.20@102.5mph...or a EK hatchback with stock B18C1, fly wheel, intake, header, with no seats, coilovers, with same slicks running 13.29@100mph. Please let me know what you think I am very curious, thanks.
Crx's are not gay why in the world do you think that. Most people would agree that crx's start the honda tradition with the first platform to build a performance car upon. And no I don't own a crx I just like them and respect them.
if it was the same motor, and on same type of slicks and suspension setup.
the CRX would be way faster. if its running the same times as an EK, then there is still potential to that. its almost a 500lbs difference so those times arent right. the crx would be at least 12.7's
btw. those are wrong size slicks to use.

Well it wasn't the same motor the crx has a gsr block and si head (first gen) and the ek has a stock gsr, and the times are right cuz i have seen both of them run, and those are the only slicks he they had to run on.
AHH ONE BIG difference would be what type of ECU they are running. if one is using pre-odb vs obd1 setup, then the EK with the OBD setup is better in my opinion. convert the 1st gen into obd1 and it will kick some *** with a chipped p72/p28

for the most part i think both of our motors are pretty strong and since the stronger motor is in the heavier car it is a toss up....
in the mean time i know both of our cars are running pretty lean, so lets both get our cars to dump more fuel and then see what we can do....
JDM, if you're running a b16 head on a b18c1 block, you're losing compression. Are you running a different headgasket to make up for loss compression?
What is more impressive? Wil's SOHC CRX

nope im just running stock headgasket. so i have 9.8 compression but it beats the hell out of the torqueless b16 block. im planning on getting a gsr head soon but tuition just f***ed that over. so maybe after xmas
i will have enough money for a new head

Keep your B16a head
Use the money that you were going to use on the b18c1 head and buy some USDM ITR pistons for your GSR block. I think that will help with the compression. Also, B16a head flows better than a GSR head.

i prefer gsr head because for one i hate the first gen heads everything is completely ugly and also the gsr manifold flows much better once you trick it by taking out the secondary butterflies. also i will get the stock compression back up to 10.0. if i went pistons i would want to go 12.5-13.0's and if i do that i will need a vafc and a lot of tuning. for now im just going to get a gsr head, around here i can get one for pretty cheap. plus i hate b16 cams... they suck ***
how in the hell are you gonna say crx's are gay??????
crx's are jsut as tight as the next
not that many people do much to them, so to actually have one running fast is props to the person that owns the car
