What EMS are you guys running in your drag cars?
Last year I ran an AEM v1 with a t1 cam trigger and cop setup and kept burning out coil drivers. Used my buddies V2 for a bit with no issues. I will not be using a V1 again, the hardware just can't take it.
What other EMS's are out there that are comparable, similiar in pricing to the V2 that you all are using, benefits, and down falls of each would be nice.

 

What are your goals et wise?

 

Hondata s300v3

 

for the money you can't beat VEMS. Kevin black from Lugtronic just got the TRC civic to 9.6@155 5th pass.

There is also MoTeC

 

Goals are to eventually go deep in the 9's, maybe someday 8's but 9's is the focus.
Motec is way out of my price range.

 

Aem series 2 is a great bang for your buck.

 

The Hondata stuff is very reliable and keeps improving. The cost of the unit is very affordable and the abilities of it are great.

 

Been running S300 for years Cars gone 157mph on S300. Switching to AEM V2 though. More options, better controls, faster processing. Full Throttle shift available with strain gauge etc...

If your a budget lowballer racer, s300

Nothing against s300 but when you want to add c.o.p. You might as well go aemv2

 

That's the way I feel also, I've ran cop already and love how much cleaner running it is. That's why I'm looking at a full ems. Hondata is doing an excellent job with the stock ecu for sure but just doesn't have everything you can get in an ems like the v2. Start adding the extras to the Hondata and your in the same price range.
Keep the options coming I know there are more out there that people are running. I checked into the VEMS and it looks interesting.

mostly motec and maybe a couple aems i would think

 

New AEM Infiniti 6/8h/8 are going to be a very good bang for your buck EMS if you can wait

 

s300 v3 or aem v2.
bang for the bucks is a s300 v3. though.

The S300v3 is closing the gap on the AEM V2 even more. The processors are now the same on these two EMS 32bit.

 

looks like pretty much a split between aem and motec.

 

ill take my s300v3 over AEM v2 anyday i ran AEM v1 on the same car for 5 years too!

 

Just getting rid of the stock distrubitor completely and using the t1 cam trigger with C.O.P. makes getting the AEM v2 worth it over the S300v3 to me. Cleans the ignition right up from what I've seen.
Anyone use the Pro EFI ems?

 

I've used the AEM v1 boards for 7-8 years now and they aren't even comparable to the V2 boards in my opinion.

I thought kkt used a series 2? I remember seeing them post on facebook they run a series 2 maybe they changed to motec.

X2 V2 is leaps and bounds over V1 many V1 users will have a bad taste in the mouth and will never give the V2 a shot and, ran one of the first Honda boxes AEM put out was on the car up Untill last year when the cat got sold, had 2 hardware failures, for the cost of the unit and how long it lasted wouldn't hesitate putting it right back in
