Default Went to the track

Dissapointed in my h22 hatch. First gear was pretty useless though. It fell out of vtec on the 1/2 shift. Plugs are fouled out in it after a month. Seems to be running alittle rich. It has a jdm p13 ecu in it.

times are

2.3
6.461
9.806
74.24
15.0
95.97

2.5
6.6
9.9
74.89
15.1
97.25

I know the 60fts sucks. Ordered a phearable ecu for it.. 4800rpm two step and vtec engagement at 5000, to cure the falling out of vtec from 1/2.. alsoa 8k rev limiter.

What do you guys recommend shifting at? What dr's would be best to run?

Thanks for the help guys

You need an Ems, not a chipped ecu. Those are things of the past, and are as ancient as the dinosaurs. They are a guess at best of what the car needs, instead of something that is tuned. Those times are horibble for a h22 hatch...my friend's completely stock gsr runs 13.3 at 98mph.

For now the chipped ecu will do better than the p13 in it... i'm slowing ordering parts to build a motor..

I know the times are horrible... The car would not hook, falls out of vtec on the shifts and is to rich..

Seems like you need to shift a little faster..or your shifting to soon..iv driven plenty of stock h's and never had them "fall out of vtec" when i was shifting propper. unless this jdm h22 ecu of yours has vtec at like 7,000 or something.

vtec is at 5600rpms... I can bump the limiter on the 1/2 shift and still fall out of vtec..

yeah, saw it and call BULLSHIT!
the mph is good enough to break 13's. get some bfg's or nitto drag radials.

You shouldn't have traction problems with a stock H22. Especially a rich H22 with bad plugs. I see this all the time at the track. Stock to lightly modified cars being launched way to high and they just blow the tires off. This gives you a high wheel speed with a very low vehicle speed. Because of this the tires hook on the 1/2 shift and the engines boggs.

Try launching at or just below vtec and feather the clutch. The tires should spin, but be close to the limits of traction, not blown off and smoking. Maybe it's your tires? Maybe it's your suspension? Maybe it's just you? We don't know all of the details.

An average driver should net low 14's with a 2.1-2.2 60'.

Spinning that much within the 60' and probably past that, mph's basically irrelevant. You can't really say 'this trap equals this et'.

Go to the track again, and again, and again.

Those were the only 2 passes i got with the car.

I didn't launch over 4k, so it wasn't anywhere near vtec and still spun. This isn't my first honda at the track. My old gsr like 4400rpm launches and didn't spin as bad this car does.

Times will improve, but i will be going back with dr's next time.

What trans does it have? What suspension? What bolt ons? I have seen BONE STOCK h22 swaps with just intake and exhaust run 13.3's all day with the stock ecu. IMO if you are not happy with the bolt ons, get what you want, get it tuned, and make sure you have the right trans and clutch/flywheel combo. It's all about the power under the curve so make sure you get parts that work well together.

stock gsr hatch doing 13.3s like he posted at 98 mph?????. I did 3 runs and all were 14.3xx at 98.xxmph with 2.1 60's in a semi gutted teg with a b18c1. shitie ebay 4-1 headers with a 2" collector. stock gsr cat. and a shitie 2.5" exhaust with a 2" restriction in the middle no tune on a ls trans while a member on here was barely scraping mid 14s in a b18c1 swaped 95 hatch SI.

Talked to a friend today, who went to the same track..

He has a ek hatch with a bseries making 180whp and only ran a 15.6@94. Sounds like something maybe up with the timing at the track. Same track a new si stock only runs mid to high 15's... My old gsr with 155whp, 200k miles and full interior went 14.8@94...

well elevation could play a big role as well. Youre elevation is about 600' vs sac raceways elevation of about 25' above sea level.

The set up is everything. Some cars have alot of mph and good 60' and still don't run. My car with a non-vtec LS was running 14.3s' @ 94 and weighing 2300. My friend Myles had an eg hatch with a JDM B18C drop in swap and would run consistent 13.2's @ 99! There are some "factory freak" motors that run rediculously well and I have seen a few GSR's run down in the 13's in hatchs.

You need the right parts to make power in the right part of the power band! Everyone knows that the longtube hytech style/replica headers work. H motors like 2.5' and up exhaust. A bigger TB and properly sized intake pipe with BPI flowstack or Blox velocity stack work well for all motor.

Right now it might have 2.25 in exhaust max... i'm still running through a stock header. There is more to come from this.

Get some slicks and a tune, I went from 13.6 2.3 60s on street tires to consistent 12.6 and low 1.7s all day long, You can't do much with street tires even drag radials with an H honestly your just going to spin and there isn't much you can do about it. Shift at 8000 if your falling out of vtec with an H trans your vtec is too high or your shifting too soon

Rev limit on the p13 is at 7800... It has the m2b4 trans as stated before.

I know its 7800, you need to get a tune lol if your fouling plugs after a month...and have them set the rev limiter higher...
