I had a Quaife diff installed in my car, ever since then the speedometer hasn't worked. I have replaced the VSS with a brand new one, still not working! This is a problem cause when it throws the VSS code, VTEC doesn't work. Anyone else have this problem, or have any solutions?

 

have you checked to see if the gear is turning the sensor? That is the first thingk to check then check the voltage on the sending unit. Honda vss signal uses a square wave pulse at 4000ppm. You can read it onthe ac scale with your vom.

My best time I could get was 9.317@77.06...it is consistently running 9.3's ...If I can get the clutch fixed I'm sure it will knock at least .1 off my time.

The clutch stuck to the floorboard twice in one run and I turned it past 10k rpm both times...oops

 

Sounds like they forgot to put the speedo gear on the diff.

 

Well it works sometimes, that is what is so crazy.

 

It used to work every now and then...

check your fuses under the dash. I cant remember which one it is but I think its labeld alternator or something. As strange as this may sound, check it out.

 

I have seen this a thousand times..check the VSS plug..they get rusty contacts and makes the speedo jump around then stop working..worst case you may need to wire in a new plug.

What he said. I have seen moisture corrode the VSS connector a few times. Even happened to my Civic.

did u get your problem fix yet? I have the same problem where it goes nuts when I floor the pedal to the metal but when normal cruise, it behave just fine.
