Default type r cams

Does anyone have the cam specs to degree these cams... open @ what crank degrees?? All I can find is the lift and duration

Get a cam degree wheel and some dial indicators and figure it out.

Better yet, get a kit from Xenocron and call it a day.

I have a kit. All the cams I've don't have had the specs I need.. how do u degree the cams of u don't know what crank degree the cam should be fully open.

Have you looked at http://www.webcamshafts.com/ under "Degree in your cams"?

Everything I've read to find lca has been for symmetrical lobes.....just found the asymmetric method

You dont, but you CAN note where lobe centerline occurs while building the motor and at least if you can find the specs later on (they must be somewhere) you can then adjust the cam gears based on the information you wrote down and measured

from what i understood the centerline on oem cams are 110? which is dead on with an oem cam gear or ge cam gear. the rest to me are all off on markings.

I noticed that peak lift was not "in the middle of the measured duration" so I was kinda lost without a FL number

Not sure if this will help.......
Intake opens at 10 degrees before TDC, closes at 40 degrees before BDC.
Exhaust opens at 40 degrees before BDC, closes at 7 degrees after TDC.
as for the center lines of the intake and exhaust cams ...take the total number of degrees separating the opening and closing, divide by 2. Add this number to the opening and you have lobe center.....
