Default trying to go sub-2000 lbs

That's right girls... the daily driven DA weighs in at 2040!!! I bought an angle grinder because I'm shooting for sub-2000 lb daily driven Integra. lol. Only thing is I gotta watch what I do and don't cut which is hard to figure out because a lot of the metal looks pretty necessary... I cut out a little bit of the doors and some roof support things, and a couple of the hood supports but I don't know what else to cut.

How much of the dash etc have you taken out?? the heater box's etc.. gone to manual steering instead of power steering? Lighter wheels? Light weigh pulleys? race seat? Carbon bonnet? fibreglass hatch? removed the rear wiper motor? get a lexan rear window? get light weight brakes? get some headlight covers for racing and run with headlights? Grind your bumpers and spoilers down to the minimum the need to be? Cut holes in the rear bumper? removed the boot spoiler completely? Removed the A/C and all the spare engine brackets? Headers? Alloy intake and filter?

Okay... NO dash, and nothing behind it... no heater box, no blower, no a/c, no nothing... just wires. lol.
all sound deadening removed, no interior panels anywhere, no rear wiper motor, still p/s cuz it's a bish to turn without it (I took the belt off and tried it) stock brakes big heavy 17" enkei RSF-2 wheels (I think they're heavy, I dunno.) what is a boot spoiler? some ractive header POS... AEM intake w/ K/n filter...

I cut a little of the metal out of the doors. (some of the pieces are pretty darn heavy)
but I just dont know what else to do... maybe take out the undercoating? I heard that stuff weighs a bit.

LMK what u think.

I've heard of some guys cutting out the big bowl of the trunk where the spare goes and then putting a piece of aluminum in there... What do u do, just rivet the aluminum in ??? if so, I wonder how much weight I'll save. Guess I gotta drop the gas tank to do it too, right? :-/

I found a FAL rear hatch window for $280 I think that will cut a substantial amount of weight due to the fact that the DA rear window is HUGE and that hatch weighs a TON.

LMK any other ideas.

Try using Dzus Fastners. But if you cut up the back of the car the box (sub-chassis) will open up. So if you are putting a roll cage brace it up before then do your cutting.

oh okay nm then lol Rollcage would add more weight than I take away and besides that I'm not fast enough for a rollcage it's 12:1 LS/VTEC and it runs 10.0 in the 1/8th mile trapping 73 mph. LOL

Thanks though if I get fast enough I'll remember that.

wtf am I gonna do for the radiator? besides, it didnt feel THAT heavy, but u know...

Anyhoo, yea the gangsta dub 17's are actually 20 lbs, that's heavy, right? Also, Smaller wheels I'll benefit acceleration form less rotational mass and all the physics bullsh1t that us enlisted folk aren't supposed to be able to comprehend...

Anyhoo, FAL makes a back glass that would probably drop 50 lbs (my DA is a hatch and that glass is like... bigger than the windshield. lol.

good to see u on H-T homie. See u in the sandbox some day. lol.
