Default Tripping the lights

At the track sometimes i see people with body work or exhausts that hang really low. is it possible for that stuff to hang so low that they activate the the prestage lights? if that happens how does it affect quarter mile times?

Yes and yes. It's almost funny when the car hooks stupid hard and you get a 2.2 60'

i agree with paul. my header was tripping the lights cause it hung too low. this resulted in lots of redlights and then when the car would lift the front end on launch i would end up with horrible 60's also.

Yah, i've tripped the beams w/ my front end before. It makes virtually no difference in the 1/4 mile but it does make a difference in the 60' time. Basically it makes it a 63' time instead of 60' time, so you go slower in the 60' but by the 1/4 that 3' makes no difference.

It does make a difference on the top end. Whatever you add on to you 60' you add on to your ET. 0.42 this weekend in Az. for me.

No, not really. 3 ft. effects ur 60' time by 5%. 3 ft. only effects your 1320' time by .2%.. Not enough to make .42 difference something else must have happened to you.

Trust me, I went over the time slips several times. 60' to 330' all the same - the difference of the 60'. All the was changed was raising the car up 2" so I was staging with my tire instead of the tip of the front end.
