Transmission problem/????
I have a gsr hydro trans, with a tilton twin disc, tilton release bearing, tilton 3/4 master cylinder, tilton flow control, avid solid mounts, and a G-force shifter. I installed a quaife and gear speed carbon sychros. The problem im having is when i first drive the car after i start it, it will go into 1st gear with no problem. When i take off and go through the gears then come to a stop and try to put the car into first gear it wont go in, until i let the car sit for a minute then it will go into gear. Was wondering if anyone has experience this problem and what they did to fix it???
check hubs for cracks, most likely the brass synchro has worn so bad that its tucking under and getting way out of alignment....its happened to me before.
I tried pumping the clutch still doesnt help. The only thing that seems to work so far is to let it sit for a minute or so then it will go in. The weird thing is that it will go into any other gear when i come to a stop with no problem at all, just not 1st.. I would like to get this problem fixed cause i want to go to the track this weekend and im going to look like a as****e after i do my burnout waiting to get the car in gear...lol

Lol... Def thought about doing that but just worried i wont being able to get the tires hot enough in 1st. Plus if somethings not right i wouldnt want to hurt anything else.
HAVE u tried going to second gear first then to first, when my trans gets worn on all my hondas she does not like goin into first when running. but if u go to second gear then first goes in smooth, not sure why but, been doin for prob like 5-8yrs on all my cars. and it works for me,

Yes i have tried to go into 2nd first but still doesnt go into 1st when trying that either. Does anyone think there is a part in the trans that my be no good causing this problem??
The brass synchro ring might be toast, but I still lean towards it being clutch adjustment. Put the front of the car in the air, have someone start it and put it in first. With the clutch in the tires shouldn't rotate at all. If they do grab one and feel how much force is being applied. Tighten up the clutch and do it again, until the clutch no longer grabs when its supposed to be disengaged.
