Default Traction on the street Q's.

Noob questions.

1: Whats the best coilover set or shocks and spring set up to run? I know stiffer but won't the rear end bounce around on 18kg? I won't to DD the car, I'm not concerned by road noises or vibrations either. I want the car to be able to handle decent too.

2: I have 16x7 wheels, what size DR's can I run? (2000 Si Civic) Which DR's last the longest? Do I REALLY have to run DR's on all 4 wheels?

3: Is the full race traction bar the only one currently for EM1's? Without having to swap **** out obviously.

4: Strut tower bar 2 point or 3 point?

5: Anything else I should stiffen up on the chassis? Rear subframe brace yadayada?

Thanks!

Nitto drag radials last about 15k miles and still hook fairly well. mickeys, hoosier, or m&h will hook the best.

1. 18k r, 12k f if your not concerned with stiffness
2. Unless you did an awd conversion, I don't see the point in radials all the way around. M&H makes some pretty good stuff!
3. I believe the blox traction bar will work as well.
4. 3 point would be more support, solid mounts, etc.
5. Some sweet colorful billet LCA's, subframe brace, heck, throw a 6pt cage in it or something.

A lot of the stuff is dependent on your setup, hp, drivability. Obviously if its your dd you don't want to run a 26" radial. But if your not making a ton of hp, then some nittos would be fine. Suspension all depends on personal preference, do you want it low, do you want it smooth, do you want it to launch, etc.. There's a lot of threads about suspension. Google can become your best friend.

how much power are you making?
do you have boost by gear?
what turbo are you running?
can you drive?
what gearing do you have?

people need info to give you an honest opinion/advice on this

Breaking the motor in so I don't have an official tune on it, just me street tuning an old map to keep it from too lean or too rich. Main reason I asked this is b/c I want to go ahead and get everything else before I go and have it tuned so that way I won't have to gradually work back up there too it.

Motor is LSV sleeved and bored to 84mm, ITR cams, BC springs and retainers, ported out head some (b16) ARP rod and main bolts, GSR block girdle and so forth
Precision 6262
I don't have boost by gear set up but I do have s300 and the solenoid for it.
b16 transmission with an MFactory LSD.
I'm not sure how to explain if I'm a good driver or not depending on this. My last motor and turbo set up didn't really lose traction for some reason. b16 low comp with CTR cams, and a garret 50 trim, and occasionally I put the shitty ebay 57 trim on it too. But I haven't had a wreck yet if that's what you were asking lmao. Other than a woman hitting my car that was parked... And her leaving.....

And I don't care if the cars low or not, right now it's just on lowering springs though.

Would 18kg and 12kg be to stiff for DD'ing though? Like I said noise and such I'm not worried about. I don't want to hit a pothole in the road and lose control b/c of the springs.

Thanks for the help.

Depends on where you live.. Are the roads smooth? More highway than city?

Swap the b16 trans to a gsr unless u plan to run a big tire.. I had omni drags on my old k series hatch making 540 and it hooked in 3rd on a 205-50-15 Nitto neo gen..lol. also make sure your front end alignment is good and boost by gear is going to be your friend

It was making about 490 in 3rd but 4th was full power and held it.. I could not get it to hook in 2nd tho. It was around 2450 with me in the car.. when I had a passenger the car seamed to want to spin more.

I have the same setup as you 6262 lsvtec, i run 235/60/15 MT et street with boost by gear and have no traction issue on the street.

No traction issue on the street such as dead hooking 1st from 20, 40 rolls?

its never going to "hook" on the street from a stop compared to any decently prepped rwd setup but thats just the shitty thing about fwd. Long gears are your friends on the street. Taller tires help too

18k rear springs make the rearend too bouncy, uncomfortable and less controlable in turns. I would get something less stiff for street use.

Running sames set up and can't go into boost 1st or 2nd without shredding the tires. I got pwm set at 8lbs 1st and second and 12lbs in 3rd, 4th and 5th. I'm running 17x7 rims and 205/40/17 Firestone firehawks. It sucks!
