Damn, that's flying, Congrats Titan!

Here's some interesting info........If they had stayed at 180 mph from 1/8th to 1/4 it still would have ran a 6.50 out the back door

I was there for qualifying on Friday. That 4.00 pass was against Billy Glidden who ran a 4.04. It was a good race and would have like to attended the elminations on Saturday.

I have a couple pics mainly of Billy Gliddens engine and a couple of the Titan engine. Those cars are some of my personal favorites especially BG's. Just over 400ci SBF with a cast manifold, single dominator, and two stages and is able to run 4.0's alot with it!!!

Titan went to the finals against Chuck Ulsch who went 204mph in qualifying and made a 3.99 pass in eliminations. Far as I know Gary White lost to Chuck Ulsch in the finals.

I just checked out the ADRL site and it said that Ulsch went 206mph in the finals against White........WOW!!!!

Also heard final count for attendance was somewhere over 60k people!!!

Ulsch is absolutely FLYING on a 10.5 tire! Thats freaking insane! Do you know who eliminated Glidden?

Glidden went out 2nd round to Jake Carlton. Seems that Glidden lifted because he went 4.49 @ only 124mph

According to competitionplus, Glidden was experimenting with a new motor this weekend. He already has his spot in the battle for the belts clinched and stood to gain nothing by winning.

Looked exactly like what he has been using for awhile now. SBF with a cast intake mani and single carb. Not saying that something isnt different but it looked the same.......

Here are a couple pics of Glidden's engine from Friday.......

Odd. Must of been for only saturday? Because the article mentioned a sheet metal intake manifold and it is obviously not the same engine.

Billy Glidden plans to experiment on Saturday at the ADRL Dragstock event in Rockingham, N.C. The glidden.jpgdefending Extreme 10.5 champion has bolted an experimental engine between the fenders of his Mickey Thompson Tires & Wheels-sponsored Pontiac GTO.

“We’ve spent a lot of time on the engine we are working with,” Glidden said Saturday morning as he made adjustments to the 440-inch power plant. “We are trying everything we possibly can to keep up with the cars that are really running fast.

“This is an experimental piece from Jim Kuntz. It’s a lot different.”

Glidden is also running the Glidden/Victor II cylinder heads on the experimental engine. The intake is a sheet metal intake by John Beck.

“It’s a totally different design,” Glidden added. “The dyno didn’t give us the naturally-aspirated results I’d like to see. But we are running nitrous oxide and it’s his [Kuntz] belief that it will run different. We figured this weekend would be a good time to figure that out.”

Glidden has the luxury of testing for the future this weekend since he’s clinched the top seed in the Battle for the Belts competition next month in Dallas, Texas.

“We have nothing to gain points wise from this event,” Glidden concluded.

Wow, that is a big difference. I did notice Saturday that he lifted and went 4.48, so maybe he strapped that new powerplant in there and it got a little squirley on him??? Too bad I was not able to make it on Saturday to check out the last round of qualifying and then eliminations.

I do know that they cut the qualifying rounds from 3 on Friday to 2 because of a nasty oil down from a Pro Extreme car that let loose right at the traps. I was sitting right at the 1/8th mile beam and the car let loose probably 50' from the line. Dumped oil the rest of the way down the track, car still managed to run a 3.76 and qualify either 1st or 2nd for the first round of qualifying. I know that Jason Scruggs did well, but do not remember right off if this car that blew bumped him in the 1st round.
