Default Tips on racing standard

Ive raced at the track before in my fiancee's mini me 92hatch, didn't really get enough practice cuz the lanes were packed. Anyways i know not to do some crazy burnouts espeically on street tires, and tire pressure should be pretty good and weight reduction and so on. My conern is launching, i got the hang of shifting. A lot of people told me to dump clutch at 3500, i tried it and car bounced, spun, and felt not right. Is there anything i should know about laucnhing, ive never raced standard before this is really my first time back to the track. When they say "dump the clutch" that means just let off the clutch and floor the gas? or is throttle controll very important. I searched for this but didn't really find anything on how to properly launch it other than "dump clutch at xxxx rpm." Id really appreciate the help.

i personally just let the clutch out and gas it. people talk about preloading their suspension and "feathering" the clutch and i guess that would avoid you snapping axles regularly but i prefer my way. it hasn't let me down.
and that
