Default T1 Trigger kit help...

Just as the tittle says,,,,

First off its a single channel setup(aem cdi but only using 1 channel)1040 box with the 1.19 version.

We hooked up our trigger kit and went by the instructions on the site, the car wouldnt start,it was only firing plug 1.

we fiddlesdaround witht the settings and car is running fine,BUT it wont rev,its like its stuck on a limiter.

Usefull info is appreciated...

For a single channel ignition system the "spark tooth" needs to be at 3 instead of 12.

Haha, unfortunately Eric, that's only with you. I think we've replaced just about everything that's been done by somebody else, so you should be good from here on out. lol

Problem was with the AEM dwell setup for the CDI box, nothing to do with the cam trigger. When going from a stock ignition setup to a CDI setup, you have to reconfigure the coil dwell settings.

I'm going to start calling Tony with random odd ball questions, like what siding is better for weather protection, aluminum or the imitation wood. I'm sure he could help

What actually does a dwell setting in a coil/ignition system do? I use some small air valves at my shop and dwell adjustments on them pretty much control the amount of time/or amount of air that flows through the valve. So does the dwell in a ignition system control how long something is opened and closed for more or less?
