Default Sumped Tank Question

Hay everyone i am setting up my car for SFWD this year and i have my stock tank already sumped....my goal is to make around 550-650whp..my question is can i run -6 line from the Bosch 044 to my inline filter and up to the rail...and use stock return...or do i have to go up to a -8 or -10 line...

i am running 1600cc injectors on e85

i dont want to have issues with fuel but already have the -6 line...

will i have any issues or is -6 enough...
thanks

I would go with -8 to be on the safe side. 500-600hp on E85 is a lot of fuel.

^^^

Use your current -6 as a return and run a -8 for the feed. Are you just using 1 044 or 2?

just one 044...

when you say to be on the safe side...what does that mean? will i run out of fuel? will i not have enough volume of fuel going to the injectors?

thanks again

I dont think 1 044 is going to be enough fuel for you, guess it all lies in the hands of the 1600's. IIRC a single 044 is good for about 650whp on Gasoline and you will need 25-30% more fuel with Ethanol.

-8an is always recommended, because it has a larger volume capacity over a smaller line and takes advantage of the increased gph ability of the 044. I have read of people making 650+ with a stock line, using c16. With a 044 pump, sumped tank, -8an line, you will probably run out of injector before you run out of pump.

I'm sure you heard that before.

Why not just use a walbro intank feeding an 044 if you dont wanna run dual 044s?

Maybe if you ran really high base pressure it would work, that way your not returning a huge amount of fuel to the tank.

Honestly if you had a set that required -10 worth of fuel feed you really wouldnt need to ask this question.......

To the Op:
Tmake 550-600hp you would be best off running 2 044's that way your don't run out of fuel. I would run at least -8, Personally id run -10 feed and -6 return.

I have seen people run -10 feed and run the stock feed as a return.

I made 550hp on e85 using a walbro intank. If 600hp is all your looking for i say your bosch 044 set up is good, but if you can do a -8 feed and keep your -6 as a return that should be more than enough.

you should be fine. at least do the -6 return if you are going to be using those ol pintle 1600's cuz they are slow. if you cant get your base fuel pressure down to stock fuel pressure you will have a hell of a time getting the injectors to idle at a decent air to fuel ratio. you can make them work but it makes it WORLDS easier if its a nice and low base fuel pressure with the lazy pintle type.

we made around 600hp with 1000cc injectors on E85, you should be fine for power, and -6 should be enough so you can adjust your base fuel pressure low enough to have good control at idle.
