stock differentials
Quaifes are one of the only full race parts that have a lifetime warrenty. Open diffs can run in a 500hp car, but they will break. It has a lot to do with driving style.
what else is needed other than the quaife to insstall in a 98 GSR tranny? how much should i expect for the install with the tranny outta the car? thanks
I broke two of the teeth in my stock diff when I just had some basic bolt ons. But I think that was due to the flywheel/clutch pieces that broke off and was flying around in my tranny. I have pics if you wanna see just click on my name and look for topics created.
Like I said, we were putting well over 500hp on a stock diff. They will make a few passes no problem. They dont last long though. The teeth do break off. These were not welded at all...just factory open diffs.
I broke 3 stock diffs in my street integra when it was normally aspirated. The shock of a 6 puck clutch and slicks will kill them! Just get a quaife and be done with it.
