staging ???????
There is not, you just say "screw off " stage as quick as you can to phyk.. the other guy out. No need for being nice this is a blood bath sport and ones who think of others feelings will be murdered on the spot.
Hope this helps you some !!

as i said in a event
in a nhra events there is a proper way to stage or you will be disqualified
yes it is called curtesy staging. this is not allways inforced, but basicaly if you prestage first, you wait for the other person to prestage before you fully stage. Jason
it is a rule and you will be dissqualified if you dont. At the last nhra event in pomona I had a single round in qualifying. There was no one to courtasy stage with. The starter got super mad at me even with a single pass because I did not role to the first light...stop, and then light the second.

ok.. lets say you prestage. but the dick in the other lane wont prestage. if you just sit there in prestage lights what will happen? will the starter get pissed at you or the other guy? i would imagine him.. but it doesnt always go down that way. another thing lets say you and him are both prestaged. and you want him to go first.. but he holds out as well.. what happens then? i just would hate to be stuck in a situation like this in the finals and lose b/c the starter has an attitude.

yea
Yep, it is a rule but sometimes they dont inforce it like they should, I try not to play game's, but if I do I make sure a curtesy stage first then I see what happens, I hate chicken **** double bulbing. Jason
hitting the second bulb when the other guy hasn't hit the first is definatley a dick move. no reason for it. when someone does that to me, i take my time. i guarentee i'm more ready than him by the time i trip that second bulb.
Funny enough, this topic came up tonight at work. I'm lucky enough to work with quite a few old school drag racers. Double bulbing, which is being described here, is NOT against the rules! But, it is an unspoken gentlemans rule, so to speak. You don't ever light the 2nd bulb until your competitor has lit their first bulb. Now, technically this is not a written rule in any NHRA rule book, but!! At some events ppl have been auto redlighted for double bulbing their competitor. So bear that in mind, the starter has the ability to redlight you before you've even moved 1". There are many many other ways to unnerve your competition, don't be a ******** about it.

hmm ive seen this happen at the nhra sport compact race here in sears point. jojo callos and another racer(forgot his name) were staging and jojo tripped both lights while the other dude hasnt even tripped the first one yet. the starter told jojo to back up start again.
Actually, we're both right, it only says that the staging rule applies to heads up classes only, also there are no ramifications, for breaking the rule, it doesn't say that you will be disqualified, and ultimately it still comes down to the starter, and wether or not he will disqualify you.

At NHRA Sport Compact events, courtesy staging is enforced for the heads up classes. If one lane lights both lights first, he/she is backed out and asked to restage. It has not been enforced in et bracket classes because so many competitors are "first timers", and the courtesy staging would only make things more confusing and time consuming.
Occasionally in heads up racing you might see one lane light both lights, but if the other lane rolls in right away anyway, the starter might let it go. Again, lesser of two evils.

yea what i try to do is inch up and let the other guy stage 1st. its a game though at the lien alot of guys like to stage last becuase usually if your staged already and the other guy is prepping to stage , the longer it takes, youll get off track and prob sleep at the light when they go . so what we end up doing is both inching up around the same time and by the time we stage we have done so pretty on point with each other and go from there. . . . . . its all a game though.
going right up to the lien isnt good though . . at least imo
