Spring/Shock Recommendations
I have been doing a bit of research on my suspension set-up and was wondering what you guys with similar set-ups are running. Sofar my list looks like this:
GC coil overs
1000# rears 500-600# fronts
Tokico Illumina adj shocks
This will be in a 96 ek hatch weighing 2300 with driver with an H23a motor in the 550-600whp range. I am pretty sure I am going to run a 13x24.5 slick with stage 3 gator axles. I am hoping to run in the 10.2-10.6 second range.
Constructive criticism, opinions, and experiences are welcomed

I'll also be running the regular strut bars and a custom traction bar I am fabbing up. Yes I know the proper way to design them
So you recommend running a slick that is 15x26? I thought a 13" 24.5 would virtually have the same sidewall size as a 15x26? You guys have a little more experience than me, so I'll probably listen to you guys.

stay away from a single adjustable strut/gc combo if you really want control over your suspension. I highly recommend looking into a set of Strange double adjustable coilovers. Kens kustom chassis sells them for like $625 a pair or something like that including springs. You really must have control over your suspension in rebound/bump if you want low 60ft times. Its even more criticle when you dont have wheelie bars. Also for a car w/o wheelie bars look into stap limiting the front suspention.

even tho you have the straps you would still sugest using a shok with rebound/bump adjustment?

yes, this suspension lets you run a softer spring rate in the rear and control the rebound of the suspension. this type of suspension will take some knowledge on how to tune it correctly , but once setup right it will **** on any single dampening strut with 900lbs. spring setup.. just my $.02

I knew I could count on you guys
I spoke with Ken and he was very helpful about talking to me reguarding the double adjustable shocks.
I'll have these babies in about 2 weeks with 850$ rears and 600# fronts hypercoil springs.

like i stated earlier in the thread you dont need to run such a stiff spring in the rear because of te control that the shock offers.
but if you insist on not listening to me because i dont know jack **** you can get the springs from eibach directly for around $200-$250.....Miller
