Default something wrong?

my friend has a si hatch with a b18b, gsr tranny, stage 3 clutch, cold air intake, and 2.5inch exhuast...he ran at the track today

r/t... .103
60'... 2.635
330... 7.058
1/8... 10.632
mph... 69.26
1000... 13.707
1/4... 16.289
mph... 87.81

feels as if something isnt right...like his trap should be higher at least. Thinks it could be a broken piece on his throttle body which is probably causing the air flow to not go into the intake manifold smoothly...its like in a shape of a "V" and about 1 inch wide gap...so basically the throttle body looks like a "C" instead of a "O" if u can picture that. Could this drop some hp preventing his trap to be higher? Or do you think he should check his timing? Also he knows his 60ft wasnt good...so how do u guys think he can improve on that? Like where are u guys launching at in your b18b's? Thanks..

his 60' is garbage... if he gets under a 2.2 he should pull a low 15 high 14 and trap around 92

so you really think if his 60ft drops he will be trapping somewhere in the 90's?

we went to the track this pass weekend and he ran a 16.088 @ 86.35mph. 60ft. was 2.469..tire pressure was at 19psi. All i have to say is those tires SUCK...you would expect traction with only 19psi but it was still spinning some so that was the best he could pull. Anyways i decide to take look under the hood today...well his friend from honda that did the valve adjustment on his car left a ground wire jus hanging so i reconnected it to the back of the head. Also checked the timing..it was off at 14 degrees so i put it back to 16, then i also got some things from home depot and customed a velocity stack for his throttle body since it was chipped, so now its covering the missing V piece...the air flow should be better now. Replaced his bosch spark plugs with some ngks...used exhaust wrap on his intake to prevent heat soak...lastly tightened his throttle cable. We took it out for a ride...man it feels much better now..picks up quicker and doesnt bog under 2k no more. Gonna go to the track nex week so ill give you guys the results..

Even if his driving skills are limited, 87mph is unusually low. I would check for mechanical issues before soley labeling the driver as the culprit although he could use some practice.

Yeah exactly..cause he did drop his 60ft some from last time and that didnt up his trap but dropped it some. what mechanical issues should we target?
