Default some advice

Whats up HT, need some advice see what people would recommend, I have a 98 civic hatch, B18c1, full exhaust, headers, test pipe, intake. My best time to date is a 14.62@95mph with a 2.3 60ft. I'm getting it tuned this week and my question is what is the car capable of with slicks? I'm just contemplating if the slicks are worth bringing for a car with less than 200whp. That run was with bald 14" tires.

slicks will help you out alot, but if you are going to run slicks, its best to upgrade your stock axles

What? Aftermarket axles just cause of slicks? I make over 600 and haven't broken a remanufactured Napa axle yet. Why is this needed for a 14 second NA b series?

LOL man I at least preload. A good set of motor mounts and good aliment will help a lot to prevent snap stock axles. Had a lot of fun with my nitrous setup slicked down with a heavy 4dr teggy back in the day and never snap an axle.

Just get some 22in or max 23in slicks and you will be good

Agreed with the small slicks. To the OP though, save the money and invest in a nice LSD and or slicks before you get axles. BTW didn't mean to jump anyone. Just trying to help with what I think might help the most.

Thanks for the replies guys, Ill be going out next weekend, hopefully squeeze some lower times out of it. I'm going to try some better tires and maybe the launch control will help.

I dropped half a second on 2 different n/a setups...
I also have never broken an axle on slicks, the only times I broke axles were on street tires...(Lots of wheel hop)
