That is the same design with gussets added. The problem I see is the front tube was drilled and a second tube was inserted perpendicular then welded. The front tube is too small for this type of joint. Drilling it removed almost all the tube and welding the inserted piece made the remaining material brittle. The insert should be a sleeved piece, not there at all, or at least a bigger front tube. Aftermarket LCA's would not be hard to make right. This is just a poor design; time for R2.

Both designs have gussets

The design looks pretty diff to me, the broken one looks like it was attached by being welded together with the rest of the arm

And this one is a complete tube goin across to the bearing

They both are one continuous tube. If yours breaks it will look just like the broken one. It will break where they welded the perpendicular insert to the front tube.

I have a few customers that just weld the front lca bushings up solid. They claim it solved their axle breakage issues.

teflon instead of ES is a major upgrade already.

or else, why not run a ef/da style suspension and thus completely deleting the rear part of the flca?

The rear part has a huge affect on the original arm. That's one of the keys to a good suspension setup in these cars.

you can always keep it simple and use stock arms and be done with it. im sure theyll get you 90 percent of the way all the fancy stuff is for that extra 10 percent.

what's the weight difference?
if they've broke before, I don't know why anyone would opt for those over oem.

Agree'd! That aftermarket front lower control arm I've seen and heard to many horror stories. Even the cast ones that were available broke, just use the stock one and put Energy suspension bushings or whatever you feel will work for you. Keep it safe...

because people in this world are to stupid to reallize you dont need them.

I think its funny you see all these cars out there running 9's,8's,7's using stock lower control arms and you have people that buy junk like that and end up spending more money in the end when they break. just because it looks nice dosent mean its gonna work.

Its like this. you see the hottest chick in the world everything is perfect about her but she has aids. you say to yourself, but man she is hot id hit it, but still there is the aids situation. ahh who cares shes hot! then your burned.
