That's another way of doing it... Having the steel pin through the mount is very, very important. You don't want it to ovalize after a period of time. Not matter how solid the mount is, it still will transfer the torque somewhere. You also want to have the steel pin to be flush with the face of the solid mount, not pertruding it, the whole objective is to have the chassis bracket and/or bracket to sit flush with the face. You want as much material as possible to sit on the face of the mount. If it's just touching the steel insert, it'll flex and break your bracket(s) or ovalize the insert (steel or aluminum) it will happen. Hope that helps you

Not to tread jack, but at what time do you need to go to solid mounts. Im in the process of rebuilding my car and I need mounts. It will be about 50/50 street/drag. It will be around 500whp for the street and around 650 if I run race gas. I need mounts for it and not sure if I should run the 93 inserts or solid? Thanks for the input.

Honestly, 85-90A durometer inserts are useless... It yeilds a higher content of plastic, they still flex under load and I believe it was just a replacement at the time for not having a complete solid mount. If you're making that kind of power, I wouldn't worry about vibration. That's the number one problem, is that the general public want's to make crazy power and not sacriface comfort. I'm not sure if any of us can do that in these cars. The solid mounts would be the choice for performance benfits, to transfering power, no driveline movement and help a lot with wheel hop. I hope this helps you with your choice.

you can just torch out the rubber of the mounts and weld in some metal

Thanks for the info tepid. I just emailed Hasport for more info on converting my current mounts, but I may still just sell them and get the Avids to avoid the hassle... It's nice to have the option though

Thank you for the reply. I was leaning towards the solids. I have Kirkey Pro Drag seats and a ten point cage going in, so I'm not to worried about that much "comfort". Ill definitely be getting the solids. Thanks
