Default slicks

Ive searched but not exactly sure what to run. I have a 00 civic hatch with jdm b18c type R. Pretty much stock with basic bolt ons...should i run 22x8x14s on my car or run drag radials? or leave it stock tires? any size recommendations? should i start out with 10 psi (tire pressure) and drop it down? Never ran slicks before so kinda need to know what to expect and if so is it necessary to heat it up?

Can I also run this tire size on my 95 teg gsr? basic bolt ons....

thanks

i asked the same thing in one of my posts. people say it can be done but its not safe since the CX steelies are like 13x5

i know that 9's can fit on 7.5's but i think 8's on 5 i too big

I have the same motor as you in my Civic coupe, except with a Toda valve train, and I can hook up all right with 205/50/14 drag radials. I'm still losing traction, but am getting 60ft's in the 1.9's. I'm looking for a slick now to try and break into the 12's, but unfortunately they do not make a 22x8x14, so I'll have to swith to a 15" rim.

Is there really that much difference in traction between a 13" and 15" slick?

Hi 2xtrme; The sidewall on the 13" will have more bite on the track then a 15" and you have more sizes to choose from when it's time step up.

psi... try something like 28-32psi.
not needed but works well and you'll get slightly better hookup out the hole.

NA making less than 200whp I'd get 22 x 7.5 x 13 lenso vdp!

60' are high 1.7 to low 1.8's

28-30 PSI is way too much for a slick. I run 6PSI before the burnout on a turbo CRX and after the burnout PSI raises about 1-2 PSI depending on how long I heat the tires for. Start out with 10PSI and work your way down from there.

I use the M&H 22x8x13's and John from M&H was at my last race and we started at 12psi and went all the way down to 9psi. 60fts went from high 1.8's to high 1.7's. I run 22psi on my street tires and ran 14psi on Drag radials.
