So I took the v6 Accord to the track the other night. Unfortunately, adding the UR pulley and J-pipe over the winter gave me enough torque through the whole rev range that I now spin at any rpm(even when I launched it at 1500 and bogged it all the way down to a near stall) all the way through first, with a prolonged bark into second and good bark into third. This is with basically brand new General UHP 215/45/17 tires. They got me between 2.2-2.4 60 fts all day last year, but the new mods really opened up low-mid range torque, and now I hopelessly spin to a 2.5 or worse
I just purchased a pair of TL wheels(17x8) to use with radials for track only use, and have found that pretty much my only options at this size, are the 225/45/17 BFG radials, or the 245/45/17 Nitto drag radials. I have heard the BFGs hook a little better, inch for inch, but I would get a 20mm advantage with the Nittos. I have also heard that the Nittos last longer, although these will be solely used on track days, so road life is not an issue. 7th gen Accords with these mods put down between 225-235 whp, so that is the power I need to hook with.
