Thanks for getting the pics up.. yes, that is his old car. He sold it to some guy in Au. and it is now on its way back to Hansens for repairs.

yeah thats ABEL's old car. i heard this car crashed pretty much the same way VINNY did at ATCO just not as fast and not at top speed. did anyone notice it was running 3 turbos?

Nelson Hoyos' old car(V-6 ford focus) is in AUSTRALIA as well.

Yup. One turbo for each rotor!

 

I've viewed the video about 10 times. If you listen carefully, just before the crash the car was hitting the rev limiter because of tire shake/spin. It LOOKS like it took a sudden left turn, but the whole run STARTED with the car going left. He just made a slight correction and brought it back but it wasn't enough. Another interesting side note is the fact that he didn't leave the line on boost. He didn't give it any RPM's until he launched. In other words, when the boost hit, the tires lit.

 

That stinks, I'm sure he'll build it back up though

maybe it was a good thing that it was a 15 sec bracket car. just think how it woulda been if the car was running equally E.T.'s abd MPH. seems to me that the accident woulda been worse. like 2 wrecked cars instead of 1. J.M.O.

yes you are right.....him being safe is what matters the most.

 

I just got the new Dragster Australia mag today and I seen this crass it sucks to see this car like this. The mag says that they are sending the car back to Gary hansens shop to rebuild the car. I wish I had a scanner there is alot of good pics of the crash.

 

Tom, even if you had a scanner, you wouldn't know how to use it! J/K
