GE pretty much designed them all, and each company stamps there name on them...kinda like how companies do with cam gears.

i talked to vince and he said they made them for ac autotechnic(sp?) and they would have to be purchased from them.so since our shop did not sell that brand,i bought the deist one from the progress groupand it rocks!

i can post pics but i am so busy it may take me a day or two.it is very light.i would say around 5 lbs.not really sure.

the pins are to hold it in place kinda like the GE, etc... ones use hex bolts to hold it in place. Also yes it's fireproof.

Do you know the part number, etc. for that Deist shield? What is the cost on that unit (i.e. is it cheaper than a Steel unit?). Would it fit on an H-series tranny/motor?

who cares what it looks like as long as it keeps the clutch and flywheel pieces from shooting into you and your passanger if it breaks. Personally I think it looks better then a bling bling chrome shield.

looks are unimportant.. but for some reason the material looks similar to what they make shool book bags out of. - i don't understand why they'd use anything other than metal..

id imagine that its nylon casing like a school bag but lined with kevlar or something similar. yeah i wouldnt put "bling bling" chrome on my ride but id much rather have a GE.

I got mine from Jotech for $255 shipped for the black one. I got the DEIST because it the only one that jotech coul dget for cable trans. Brian
