im upgrading to a 10 pt but im confussed about where the bars that come from main hoop down to center hump if its nhra legal to run there or do i need to put a bar at bottom of main hoop to run them?

just run your side pillar bars all the way down of your harness bar, then a short bar in the middle of pillar bars

 

I have done them to 6x6 plates to the exhaust tunnel. Never had problems getting certified.

 

I am pretty sure I read somewhere in 2010 you need to run them down to a cross bar that goes between the rocker panels.

 

you can run the two bars down from the main hoop to the center of the car but there has to be a bar that connects the main hoop from side to side and those two bars that go diagonally from the main hoop have to go onto that bar.

 

can the bar go to the bottom of the main hoop or does it need to go to the rocker panels with 6x6 plates to be certified

 

must go to rocker panels for 2010

 

the d bars should go to the bar spanning the rocker panel. ALTHOUGH, people, including myself, have had them pass. in my case they passed original cert and re cert.

 

The d bars have to go to a bar that goes from rocker to rocker in order to keep the car from crushing inward on unibody cars. Some NHRA techs aren't aware of this and let some go through anyway. Here is how I did mine:
