Default ran the 22 hatch at the track.....

Well I dont have a scanner at work so no slip to see.....
I ran a 14.4 at 96 with a 2.3 60ft. No launch, just off of idle.
My set up:
94 dx hatch h22 w/accord EX trans, full interior, drop in K&N, apex piping w/magnaflow muffler. Stock suspension running 185/65/14 Tiger Paws (they actually dont spin that bad) I was pretty pleased
What do you guys think?

accord EX(f22) trans is hurting you. you probably didnt even have to shift out of 3rd gear, right?

No I didnt, 3rd tops out at 110 (speedo-gauged) I want to try a h22 tranny, but I hate to give up the accords 5th gear. Have to love 23-2400 at 65mph.
Thanks for the replies

14.4 1/4 would be like a 9.2-9.3

thats my guess. i would also say he was probably still in 2nd gear crossing the 660ft. mark.

thats amazing seeing that i am well into 4th gear by the 660.

why would you waste your time putting an h22a into a civic to use an accord tranny? its killing your acceleration

an h22a tranny cruising at 60, 70 or 80mph wont drastically reduce your mpg

Why would I waste my time??????? I built the car for my style of driving. 90% of the time it was interstate driving. I felt the accord would work better for the task. Now that the car isnt serving as a daily driver, I would like to try a p-lude box.

By the way on a recent trip to Maryland, cruising at 55-60 I saw almost 40mpg. The p-lude box IS pretty buzzy at high speed F.Y.I

tell me about it, sheesh. i run an h22 trans on my F22 w/ 6800 fuel cut.

was i pretty close on those 1/8 mile times?

i was basing it on my runs because we MPH about the same. the fastest ive trapped is 78mph 660ft, 96 mph 1320ft. i know that a 9.30 or so for me would equal about a 14.3-14.4. i run consistant 8.8-8.9 1/8 mile now w/ 1/4s in the 13.9s.

mph seems a bit slow. But its probably your longer tranny.

Good times. (ot but what is difference in rpm at 60 between the accord ex and h22 tranny?)

So you did the 1/4 mile in just 1rst and 2nd gear? Or did i read wrong?

If so that is going to kill your times you should hit 14.0's or high 13's maybe even faster

you'll notice a big difference if u change the tranny. if you do change and have the money, you know light-weight flywheel, pressure plate, racing clutch, and or LSD wouldn't hurt. of course u eventually want to get that horespower from the beast down to the wheels.

Nah, the trans isnt that tall!!!! That would be insane, 1st & 2nd in the quarter.
Actually, I dont even top 3rd in the quarter.

I really do want to at least try a prelude trans. The only thing Im worried about would be the increased potential for wheel spin. I guess I would have to use some slicks/radials. Oh well, things to ponder.

Thanks for the replies.

the type s has the same gearing as all the other 97-00 prelude trannys. the shortest tranny you can get for h22 is the euro r tranny, but good luck finding one of those... the next shortest is the 4th gen USDM h22 tranny, then go for a h23 tranny, and if you cant get one of those then get a jdm h22 tranny
