Default Quickest ET using a 24.5" slick on a 15" wheel

I'm limited to running a 15" wheel and wanted to see some of the best times people have ran using a 24.5" slick on a 15" wheel. Thanks.

4 years ago I went 11.01@132mph on 24.5x8.7x15 M&H slicks in my ITR. I never got a clean pass without clutch slip so I know there was way more in it. Im going back to that tire next year.

Were you able to fit those slicks under the stock fenders? Did you use coilovers to raise the car?

I like my toyo 25x9x15's, they seem to hook pretty good. Best I went in my 450whp 2500lb street car was 11.06@126, not the fastest time out there but not shabby.

Couple of major factors that are going to have an impact on times are going to be Weight and Hp/Power Curve

As we both know VW's tend to be heavy with high tq to Hp numbers. This makes traction even hard to find when pushing the limits of the tire.

That being said I've cut numerous 1.75 60ft's and gone bottom 11's on ~12lbs of boost.
24.5's on 15" Rotas.

I weigh 2580lbs in my mk3 jetta.

I am sure you have seen but Tim from Md went 10.8 in his 2600+lb gti on the 24.5x15 on stock wheels.

I'd say lower 10's are definitely possible on the tire. 9's might be possible but you would have to work real hard to get it done.

As someone else mentioned the 25x15's are supposed to be good as well.

I wish that tire was legal for true street.

I ran them on stock suspension but I got coilovers and made a world of difference.

Just swapping the suspension out and launching harder(stock stuff made the car handful on the 1-2 shift) I went from a 11.6 to a 11.07. The car was about 550whp and 400wtq and 2800+lbs. If I remember right my best 60ft was a 1.64 on coilovers and 1.76 on stock suspension

What are the tire rules for true street? I know most racing bodies allowed 25" maximum.

Thats lame! I dont run true street so I have no room to complain, that just limits the tires that racers can run. Toyo's are very reasonably priced as well.
I have emailed toyo with interest in a 13" tire but have gotten the typical "we will look into it" reply. Maybe with enough interest they may develop something, the 25's are great!

The rim was 8.75", Tire pressures were around 6psi. Super stable up top
even with so little air.

My 2nd favorite would have to be a Hoosier, get em hot and they stick as good as a MT
and last 10 times longer..

Thanks for all the replies! Seems like 1.6 60's are common with the setup and 9.8 is the quickest ET I seen so far on the thread.
