Default Quick Question from a newb

Ok my cousin gave me his crx before he left for the army and taught me a few things how to keep it up and running etc. and he told me to have a little fun. I know very little about this car. He called me the other day and he told me to have some fun and go take it to the strip just dont blow the car up....... So what my question is I have no idea where to shift at I am shifting at 8200rpm but I am still feeling a bit slow. I rode in my friends CRX with a stock b16a in it and it felt a lot fast. The CRX my cousin gave me has the following mods

Motor:
JDM B16A
OBD1 conversion
ITR Camshafts
HKS adjustable cam gears
chipped p30 ecu
Megan Race Header
Garage made SRI
Catback 3 1/2 can on 2 1/2 piping
MSD 7-A2 box
MSD pro comp cap
MSD pro comp Coil
APEXi VAFC
Clutch Masters 6 puck clutch

IDK what coilovers they are but they say TypeX on them and they are really stiff the springs are yellow and the type x is written in red

Car is fully stripped and back windows are plexy glass. battery relocated to the back with killswitch on the exterior

I have the VAFC set at 4500 for vtec to engage. It is hard to shift exactly since the numbers move a little fast on the VAFC but I've been shifting as close as I can to 8200 since thats what I have been reading on here to be safe. The last time I went to the drag strip I launch at 4000rpm and shifted around 8200 and clocked 14.8 on street tires 195/60/15R dont ask me why its not 195/50/15R I got the for free this is on 2003 si rims

back then when my cousin went down the strip in this car he ran a 13.7 on snowflakes wraped on sreet tires 195/50/15R . That is a whole second faster. What is he doing different from me? Any advice to help me would be greatly appreciated

what are your 60ft times? you may want to try launching a lil bit more neer 6800. make sure you have a good preload on the clutch or you will be replacing axles.

Umm try airing down the tires some i would say 18-22 psi usually worked pretty good for me. Then from there is just a bunch of practice to get it right.

Finding optimal shift points would require the knowledge of where the power is in your powerband. 8200 rpm shifts are pointless in a b16 with type R cams..... you should try shifting somewhere earlier in range. Playing games with shift points and using different tire pressures are all gonna help you. Having shitty all season tires aren't gonna help your cause either. I would play with those two things and eventually you will figure out what's going on. Your definitely gonna wanna launch higher as well..... 4000rpms is rather low... I try to stay around the 5000rpms range... but this is a GSR I am driving and I find I get my best times launching from 5000rpms. Practice more and more and you should be fine.

I was told 8200 was not enough I'm suppose to shift past powerband so by next gear I'm back at it
