Last season I ran a 12.45 @119 on drag radials with a 1.97 60' on a stock block LS/Vtec with a Holset HX35 in a 95 DX hatchback. Well, I'm putting together a new build but I am curious, based on that trap speed and your experience, what this old setup was capable of on slicks (I never got a chance to run them). Any ideas??

Re: a Question regarding trap speeds
from radials to slicks I picked up about a second but my trap also went up on slicks cause my slicks were shorter than my radials were

I think mid 11's are more than reasonable with that trap. As long as you know what you're doing on a properly sized slick. If you're thinking of making over 400whp, I'll go with 24.5's although 23's may be ok.

Re: a Question regarding trap speeds
in my crx SOHC i ran a best of 11.6 at 119 last season , i averaged 11.8 at 119 most the season. i used a 23 inch slick, a 22 spun to much and a 24.5 was to tall , i was at 305 whp.

Re: a Question regarding trap speeds
92 Hatch VX,B18B Holset HX35 using a GSR trans i ran 24.5's and it went 11.6 at 118mph with a 1.7-1.6 sixty.I would think that could have gone at least that if not 11.5ish.

Re: a Question regarding trap speeds
Man, it seems that this year I'll be shelving the 22" slicks that I have currently. I bought the dr's for a street car shootout that I was competing in. I will be reusing my B16 trans in my new build, which only differs from my current setup only by forged internals. Do you guys think I should get a 23" slick, or should I go larger? My goal is ~400whp. When I tried the 22" earlier in the season, I ran out of gear at the end big time, and I would imagine that i'll be spinning them too if I reuse the 22's with my new setup.

Re: a Question regarding trap speeds
2100 pound ef with me in it, 272whp, 23 inch lensos, 1.75 60ft= 11.8@115. With a 119 mph trap you can def see a mid 11 run once you get it dialed in.

Re: a Question regarding trap speeds
I went 11.8@121 with a 24.5"x8x15" m/t. But it was my first time driving something other than a high 14 second integra. I was playing around with the boost and not running a lot in 1st 2nd and 3rd, trying to figure it out.
