Question about spool install
I am about to install a TCI spool in an LS tranny. Will I need the been a need to use other sized shim's with this install , same as you would in some Quaiffe installs?
Thanks.

hey bud and do your self a favor.look pretty hard at the spool and make sure there is the clip notch cut into the splines and that the splines dont go clear to the outer edge.
i have a tci spool,i was not watching what i was doing, installed it and the noticed that the axles would not go in all of the way because the splines were out to the edge and it did not have a clip groove.as for the shim it will be different,so make sure you shim it to spec.all different thickness shims are availabe through honda.
i hope i saved you any headache.

Thanks a lot for the advice. I'll look at it tonight. What did you end up doing since the clip groove was not there?
i got a buddy at a local machine shop.he cut it for me and counterbored the splines so the axles would fit.i contacted tci and they were not aware of the problem at that time.
good luck

I just looked at it. The spines are receased in about an inch on both side, and there is 1 clip notch about 1 inch in fron the end of the splines closer to the gear side.
