Like they said your never gonna get traction is first or second anyway... Tires should be your first priority... Then get a traction bar... But from there...

Ima go a different route that hasnt been mentioned... Since your big on daily driving...

Why not just take out the LSD from your Type R tranny and put it in a LS tranny...

YES, your gonna SLIGHTLY slower at the track... On the street is where you gonna see a great improvement with driveability...

But with over 400whp your gonna be able to put down more power and control the car easier thru 3 gear...

And on top of that you gonna get better gas mileage everyday...

Well if he doesn't wanna run DR's he's in the wrong type of racing, cuz for 18psi street mickeys will spin some too, get some 24" slicks and switch them with ur street tires when u hit the track, or get some mickey t's DRs or Nittos- if u want them to last a while driving on the street, but if u want to run times just go for slicks.

And no dont put a damn ls tranny in ur car get it to hook the way it is, we're all here to learn cause we wanna go faster not slower..(never change to a ls tranny)

if its a street car get s300 with the boost by gear. Iv had the same problem, ran drag radials, worked ok unless it got cold out. but now with boost by gear and my street tires it hooks awesome, sticks 1st (7lbs) 2nd(9lbs) 3rd (13.5lbs) and 4th (17, soon to be 19lbs) and the worst I get is tires screetching I love it. boost by gear is the way to go. like every one else said if you plan on hooking up slicks are the way to go, If you wanna make your car fast on the street a good set of tires and boost by gear is the best solution.

Thanks for the information guys, definitely a worthwhile read on here and i have a few different thoughts on here that i can take and put to the test.

I have a Tial wastegate untouched in my garage with a 7 psi spring that i can use, and then use a boost controller for high low boost.

The other method( s300 with boost by gear) is something that i am presently thinking about, but at the moment im just thinking it would be a shame to let the tune on the APexi FC to go to waste.

Maybe the way forward is getting Drag rads/slicks afterall.

Which traction bars would you guys recommend, many years ago ( 2005 ish) i used the Full race ones and they were pretty good. Im not sure what has been released/improved on since then?

Just wish i could hook the higher boost in first and second for the better times, i have no doubt that 3rd will hook up pretty well with 18psi even on the Toyo proxes i have on at the moment for street tires.

Thansk for your advice Glove and others that gave their input. Its always good to listen to another persepective.

proxes are ****. get some real performance tires if you want more traction, I just got a set of dunlop dirrezas spec star's for $200 shipped for the front two and they are pretty amazing. if you aren't spinning 3rd with a itr on 18lbs and itr tranny on proxes then theres something wrong with your setup..

you can make it fast on street tires its just alot more work and money and driving skill needed then slicks.

just throw slicks on once and it will change your mind.

:-) i think im dreaming/hoping that it wont spin on 18 lbs in 3rd. At the moment it isnt spinning at all in 3rd really (depending on weather conditions) and its on 10 psi.

I think thats my whole problem, im trying to balance between a motor that will get me late 11s/early 12s and be able to perform similarly if required on street.

Ive been looking into Yokohama advan ad08s or a better recmended tyre for street and i may go with a set of slicks for the track.

jesus christ, people told you what you need, 24.5's a traction bar a good suspension setup solid/poly mounts a good ecu and boost per gear, drag radials are a joke unless your gonna get these http://www.summitracing.com/parts/MTT-3756R/
and im sure your not willing to ride around on those at 20psi daily on your itr, and street tires aren't even an option if you want traction. so just get you a set of slicks n skinnies for the track and just put up with spinning through 3rd on the street
