Q's on going with LEXAN windows.
Time to lighten up and want to do so with the VIS carbon fiber hatch for my 91 CRX SI and am thinking about replacing the windows with lexan. But I hear from alot of people not to because they scratch so easy. This a daily driver. Wanted to hear from so others out there who have used lexan windows. Thanks.

yea im thinkin about running the rear lexan window on my car but its not a daily driver ...i never really looked into the other windows and stuff ...i guess if i go one piece front end ill get the whole setup ..
I'm thinking of going with Flex-A-Lite, for the rear hatch, and then doing the rear sides later on.I also hear they scratch real easy. Anyone know if any one is making a CF hatch for CRX's? I know they make them for Intergas, and some civics.

Here is a link to a little bit different type of glass that I have been looking at. It is a more expensive, but it may work better for street cars.

i ran lexan in my daily driver. if you clean it with plastic window polish it's make's it clear as new again. you can also buy scratch resistant lexan too.
sounds like maybe lexan is all that bad. one know what the difference is between going down to home depot and paying alot with flex-a-lite? unless there is a major difference i don't see why you would pay so much more when you can just buy it at home depot and make it yourself.
do you know where to buy scratch resistent?<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by evilxkid »</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">i ran lexan in my daily driver. if you clean it with plastic window polish it's make's it clear as new again. you can also buy scratch resistant lexan too.</TD></TR></TABLE>

who cares if it's in the "wrong forum"? I don't know about you but I know I've proven that power to weight makes a <U>huge</U> difference in NA class

Well now when people go to search a forum for lexan window information, they won't find this thread because its in all-motor. Its just better to keep threads in the forums they belong in.
Anyone know of any place that sells precut lexan glass for hondas? Seems like the only one I have found is the FAL peice which sells for an arm and a leg.

I started the question in this forum for two reasons: 1. the power to weight aspect 2. tech forum and NA forum subscribers seem to be on top of things. But you do make a valid point as far as search under lexan goes.
Secondly, yes flex-a-lite has pre-cut windows (lexan).
Thirdly, someone asked about carbon fiber hatches. Yes VIS makes them for the CRX.

I don't want to get into a debate about seaching- in all actuallity if a person really wanted to know everything there was to know they wouldn't just limit it to one forum-
AFAIK- FAL is the only one that produces pre fabbed parts for the car. I heard a rumor that there was another company that was going to start, but have yet to see anything from them.

does lexan fog up during the winter time/sudden temperature variation?...it would suck if that happened
and how does the scratch resistant type compare with glass?
and how does the scratch resistant type compare with glass?
You use Rainx on it- least I did.. anti-fog and anti- rain... the scratch resistant type is just like glass- not many people will know it's lexan unless you mount it like a race car.
The FAL kit isn't all that expensive. Check out http://www.nopi.com that is where I got mine from.
