Pinks REMATCH Live!!
I've been listening since 4:00 and the first two races were nuts! I can't wait to see it on speed! First race was heads up and too close to call at the end.

That was a close race. We're just glad that nobody was hurt (physically
), and that it was a good matchup. No doubt about it though, that VW is FAST, definately faster than our car. Have to hand it to the VW guys, they don't play around..
Big props to Geoff and the Full-Race team for driving the car and the countless hours of work on the car, it needed it.
I'm estimating our car ran in the high tens on the last few passes. We ran 11.3 @ 127 in testing today, with 10 psi on the launch, 13 psi in 2nd gear, and 16-17 psi in 3rd and 4th gears.. The last race was 22psi in 2nd/3rd/4th gears..
Gotta love that TurboXS quad stage controller..
Engine build on our car (this will get a laugh out of someone)..
First off, we blew up our somewhat built LS/VTEC motor 2 days before the event .(turbo sucked in the vacuum line that feeds the boost controller, shooting the boost through the roof. I was tuning it at 22 psi and was at 6800 rpm when this happened, and it pegged the Motec 3 bar map sensor, broke the stock sleeves on #1 and #2, and destroyed everything in its path.
) That motor was well on its way to 600+ hp. With the time left, we dug up a stock GSR shortblock that has been laying around Hasport for 2-3 years, had dirt in it, and looked like complete trash. Cleaned the dirt off (didnt remove the stock pistons/rods/etc), put on 2 stock headgaskets, a stock b16 head, ITR cams, the intake valvesprings that survived from the 1st motor, and whatever else we could salvage. I tuned it to just over 400hp at 16 psi, and guessed on the rest of the maps, as we didnt want to blow up the backup motor too. I'm estimating 450+ hp at 23 psi. So, whoever says you can't run 10's with boost on a stock short block has probably been proven wrong. How long will it last, who knows.
I'm sure there's a long list of sponsors on this project, but since I dont have that list in front of me (Brian will post that later), here is the ones off the top of my head..
Hasport (duh)
Full-Race (turbo kit, driver, countless hours of fab work, cage, traction bars, exhaust system, C16 race fuel, etc)
American Honda/HFP Performance (OEM ITR trans, hats)
Exedy (twin disk clutch)
The Driveshaft Shop (two sets of level 5 axles, although we never needed to use the 2nd set!)
Turbo's Direct (kick *** turbo)
TurboXS (quad stage boost controller)
Dave @ Headgames (headwork, moral support, who knows what else)
Stickerlab (graphics, shirts)
RC Engineering (1000cc Injectors)
Hondata (S300 system and Motec 3 bar map sensor)
Tial (blow off valve, wastegate)
Magnaflow (muffler)
Jeff Evans of Evans Tuning fame (advice on keeping the motor alive)
Collective Racing
Locash Racing (me! Tuning.)
There has to be many more, someone can add to this list, please..

My thinking is for all of us (both sides) is to get the word out to anyone and everyone to watch it when it airs as I think this PINK's episode is going to go thru the roof in ratings!
As Import racing could get a lot of POSITIVE media exposure from this!
I guess the ACVW team also had many last mintue assy. problems too as I heard the carb about fell off, thottle cable clamp slipped, wheelie bars broke (?) and another broken race axle too!

congrats on the effort with both teams, too bad jason meet the wall on that pass, it would of been a great run. its still surprising how the vw is that fast with the amount of power its making. but, the honda isnt a slow at all. i cant wait for the airing of this show...my understanding is that its going to be the season final showing correct?
