Anyone have any pictures of their car that they cut weight out of?
Just want to see the extent of lightening people do.

Thanks!

Kind of irrelevant considering almost every event here has set weights in every heads up class huh?

Some people don't race events. Some people want to go as fast as possible without adding more power. There's also the street guys who want every advantage possible.

Pretty relevant. lol

You are correct, and the majority of those sweet street cars are piles of ****. Held together by duct tape or awesome blue painters tape, and probably wouldnt post pics of their **** work on here in the Drag Race Forum.

The tape is for aerodynamics, although doesn't seem like it would make a difference to me.
A lot of those guys are in it to make money. They could care less what the car looks like, as long as it wins.

Lol, thanks for the lesson. Yeah, the tape is classic! Although mostly on the front ends for "aero reasons", I have actually seen it for holding trunks in place. lol

That's legit right there. Gotta remove that trunk latch to save more weight.

I'm kidding on that one, lol.

What did you find was the best way to cut the inner structure off of panels? Cutoff wheel? Sawzall, plasma, air chisel? What's the best method to get those inner structures out, as you've done? Your Rex is hella tight! Appreciate the reply.

Bob, it was a combination of plasma cutter and what it couldn't get, a cutoff wheel was used. Then cleaned it up with an angle grinder with the roloc discs. We made sure to get all the suspension points fab'd before any major cutting. By the way, the entire back half project and lower diffuser was completed by my dad
