Default Palmdale

Ran 14.2's and 14.3's at Palmdale this weekend and I did not win the all motor class. Guess I need slicks or something. Maybe a lighter car, more horsepower, and a better driver too. What do you think?

GSR block 84mm sleeves, JE 12:1 pistons, Skunk2 Stage 2 cams, DC JDM 4-1 header with ITR B-pipe and muffler. Chipped P28 ecu. Shitty 16" wheels and Nitto NT450 205/40/16's. Working on a new motor that will get me into the 12's (I hope).

Not, get that thing dyno tuned and you can hit 12's.

Well I think Palmdale is 2500/2700 ft above sea level?

Here in Idaho (2700/3000 ft) I run 14.0's should see a 13.70 soon with P73 ecu....pretty much a stock (I/H) C5 motor with BFG drag radials.

I would compete in an all motor class yet.......I would want to be at least in the high 12's before I felt like I had something competitive.....even then most serious guys are in the 10's/11's

I wouldnt trust the times at palmdale (Since the elevation sucks, and if you look at the track straight on it seems as though its going uphill...)

I usually go to Palmdale. Over summertime...I went to Sears Point and the elevation correction formula is quite accurate. So don't forget to correct ur times. My last uncorrected time at palmdale was 14.23

what fantasy world are you living in? given the altitude and limited mods...that is a repectable time.

Track is level, shutoff is uphill, just like many tracks.

LACR sucks ***, around 2700 feet elevation nasty launch pad and dirt and debree blowing across the track, but they are open every wednesday and friday night so it's my home town track. I went 14.3 at 101 stock b16 with 4 psi of boost.

I am building a new motor that should put between 215-230 hp to the ground. I am hoping that with slicks and some driver improvement (my reaction times are between .850-1.00) I will be able to hit low to mid 13's at Palmdale. Better times at Pomona. Current motor putting 200hp to the ground. Goal for this car is high 12's when it is done. Then I think I will build a hatch.

200whp in a coupe you should be pulling better times than 14.2 what was your 60ft.

2.35 to 2.4's. Car does not hook up so well in first. I also had a half tank of gas and about 100lbs of extra stuff in the car, including a child's car seat. Took the whole family up for the races. Next time we will be taking two vehicles.

well just FYI reaction times dont mean a thing. doesnt have an affect on your ET's. when you trip the beam then it starts the clock. so dont worry that much on reaction times.
